Hilary Katz, Program Services Supervisor with GoodWill of Central Texas started her presentation with a video about Goodwill's 60th anniversary. She also told us about some Goodwill success stories and gave us statistics regarding their programs and the number of people they help. Goodwill's programs help people with employment training, job searches, and most importantly help them build their self-esteem so they can reach their full potential. Goodwill has a number of education and work training programs and works to find employers who are willing to take on employees through Goodwill. Goodwill works to obtain public and private grants to assist their clients with job training, education, and other needs. With regards to their retail stores, 98 cents out of every dollar earned in these stores goes to help Goodwill clients. Goodwill's programs also work to keep items out of the landfill by recycling, reusing and reselling them.
