Our scheduled speaker, Marco Barragan could not attend because he was in Houston getting his visa for his Rotary Youth Exchange trip to Spain. In lieu of hearing from Marco, President Beth discussed with the club her ideas for the new Rotary year, including the following:
- Focusing on increasing membership
- Lead another Rise Against Hunger project
- Possibly work with other clubs (NW Austin) to do a Water To Thrive project
- Possibly work with Hart Elementary on other projects and an expansion out from just participating in the Early Act/First Knight program
- Past-President Tink mentioned a possible eagle Scout project with Pecan Springs
- Past President Aziz mentioned possibly volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters
- Past DG Bruce Golden proposed working on some literacy projects
- Possibly work on projects at Mobile Loaves and Fishes Community First Village
These are just some of the ideas proposed to help our community and the world!
