Conference of Rotary Clubs - June 24-26

This year's District 5870 Conference of Rotary Club's takes place at the Horseshoe Bay Resort. Events begin on Friday evening and continue through the installation of District Governor 2016-17 Bruce Golden on Sunday. The keynote speaker on Saturday is Helen Reisler, who was the first woman member in 1988 to be invited to join the Rotary Club of New York. Thirteen years later she was elected as the first woman president of that club in their 92 year history. She was the first Rotary Club President to face the challenge of an unprecedented terror attack on her own city in 2001. Helen’s successful coordination of volunteer activities during the “9/11 Disaster,” throughout her year of club president, and beyond, encouraged her 185 members to use their individual skills at “Ground Zero,” aid in the relief efforts, and send 45 first responders on vacation. Awards will also be given at the Conference including the Presidential Citation awarded to our club. Please join the fun and fellowship in a beautiful lake setting!
