The program is a team of 4 non-Rotarians who have had previous experience with Rotary Youth Programs who will travel with a Rotarian group leader to the Philippines to participate in service projects for a month. They will be hosted by Rotarian families, and all travel expenses will be paid by Rotary District 5870. The Service Experience will be held from mid February to the end of March. Jennifer will provide us with more details about the program and how we can sponsor a team member as we did this past year.

Clubs will want to reach out to their youth program alumni who they want to keep connected to the Rotary family. A team of 4 youth alumni will travel with a Rotarian leader to the Philippines for a month to complete service projects. They will live with Rotarians, get an insider’s view of the country, and come away with friendships and roots that develop while working side by side on meaningful projects. Team members who have participated in Early Act/First Knight, Interact, Youth Exchange, RYLA or Rotaract are eligible to apply. Each team member must be sponsored by a club which involves having an interview and the signature of the club president. All club sponsored applicants will then be interviewed by a district committee and selections will be made in September. All team members will participate in training and the Service Experience will take place from mid February to the end of March of 2017. - See more at: http://www.rotarydistrict5870.org/60098/Page/ShowSitePage?ClassCode=SitePage&Slug=global-service-experience#sthash.YXAjR89I.3tbatfVt.dpuf
