Assistant District Governor Christine Kempff
On August 17th, Christine first talked about her Rotary story including her trip to Kenya on a global grant water project. She told us about this year's Rotary theme, which is ROTARY SERVING HUMANITY. RI president John Germ wants to highlight the work that Rotary is doing. Christine also showed us how the My Rotary website page contains member information and club information. She discussed the District 5870 goals for this Rotary year, which include - 1) increasing membership including being flexible about meetings; 2) increasing Foundation giving, setting giving goals, participating in a global grant; 3) youth programs; 4) contributing to the polio campaign; and 5) spreading Rotary's public image using social media, websites and newsletters. There is a district public relations team that can help. Christine discussed President Tink's club goals and the presidential citation. She also discussed upcoming district events, including the Multi-District reunion, the Foundation dinner, the Conference of Rotary Clubs, and the RI Convention in Atlanta next June.
