Tom Lange and Arturo Zavala spoke about Central Texas Friends of the Brave, which is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting established veterans' organizations, service members, emergency responders, and their families with emergencies that are not covered by insurance or veterans' benefits. They formed this charity in August of this year, so they are still ramping up, but they are hosting a fundraising gala on November 8th, called Honoring Our Veterans. It will be at the Georgetown Community Center from 6-11 p.m. Their plan is for 80% of the funds they raise to go directly to helping veterans and first responders. They are creating partnerships with local veterans' organizations, churches and charities to help provide these benefits.
