Kevin Phelps spoke to us about his non-profit Operation Enduring Respect.  This a local Austin non-profit that initially set out to help active-duty soldiers that had been wounded during fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq that Kevin started 12 years ago.  Now they also help other wounded warriors who may have been injured in some other way. They obtain season tickets to UT football games and take a bus to games from Fort Sam Houston.  The recipients are picked by the people at Ft Sam - now the USO office. The object is to give these soldiers something to look forward to - giving them hope. They include families as well as the wounded warriors. They have also taken soldiers to Dallas Cowboys games in a donated suite and have traveled to five Super Bowls as well. The organization has served 2,500 people over the years and has a $25,000 per year budget.  They can use help with fundraising and social media presence. Additional information can be found at www.enduringrespect.com.  Thanks to Lynn Santos for bringing us this wonderful speaker!
