Rotarian Beth Seiver spoke to us about the upcoming election. She has been serving in the election process for the past 20 years. She is a very strong believer in the right to vote and agrees with the statement “we don’t care who you vote for, just get out and vote”. Early voting is from 10-20-25 – 10-31-25. Election day is 11-4-25.
Some of her duties are:
- Participating in training and taking an oath, she will ensure faithfully to perform the duties in the voting process.
- Verify voter registration, make sure they are qualified to vote and check them in.
- Answer voter questions but not to sway the either way.
- Help whenever needed.
- Make sure that the correct procedures are followed when the voting process is complete.
- Complete and certify the official forms and report are sent to the appropriate place after the voting has ended for the day.
- Take the ballots and any other materials to the regional site.
Items you must present in order to vote:
- Items issued by DPS – driver’s license, Election Identification Certificate, personal identification card, handgun license
- US military identification card
- US Citizenship Certificate
- US issued passport
While there are no seats being voted on in this election one of the biggest items on the ballet is Prop Q. Prop Q is a tax increase for the City of Austin to help with parks, homelessness and public safety. Because tax sales revenues are down and loss of federal funding the city officials deem this is a necessity.
