At our Club Assembly the following was discussed:
 
Lupe Barragan told us about his trip t Saltillo with his wife and Ben and Nancy Carssow, who also added their thoughts about the trip.  They met with a potential sister club – Saltillo Del Valle Aripe and discussed prospects of doing projects between the two clubs. President Aziz discussed increasing membership; his goal is 10 new members this Rotary year, but we are not there yet.  He also discussed our focus on service including the Rise Against Hunger project that was just completed.  Shirley Dean gave us a list of all of the service our club is doing including scholarships for RYLA campers; Rise Against Hunger; Meals on Wheels; magazine donations; books to Strong Start; Brookdale chats (Denis and Ernie) - includes Jim Robinson; Interact and Great Troop 8 and Early Act First Knight; blood donations by members.  She also mentioned our December 15th party with an auction for refugee family and pastries for peace - 6pm at the Carssow home.  Michael Holmes talked about youth exchange program - need two or three family volunteers. Possibly work with Northwest Austin club to get host families.  Finally, Frank Ivy discussed the Foundation and reported that we collected for Polio Plus $160 in October from sunshine basket and total of $710 for this year.  Also, $4,200 to the Foundation from 7 members with matching Jerry Jones funds, which will be presented at a future meeting.
