Caroline Mize Targonski spoke to us about Foster Angels of Central Texas. She showed a video about their impact – they are a nonprofit organization with no red tape, providing additional resources for children in foster care. The organization was started in 2010 and has served over 50,000 children during that time in a 30-county service area. They served 2,800 kids in 2025. They provide services to youth from birth to age 26, meeting critical needs like clothing, beds and rent assistance and providing enrichment opportunities as well. They fulfill critical needs for foster kids from birth to age 17, and work with the 18-26 group to help with needs such as rent and education. Every year they have a back-to-school drive to stuff backpacks for kids going back to school and can use volunteers to help with this activity. They also have a toys-for-teens program where they wrap gifts for teens in December; working with case workers to get wish lists and provide specific requests. Foster Angel’s funding comes from private donors and some public grants. Rotarian Brigid Lester, who as a CASA advocate in Williamson County, told how Foster Angels helps the CASA kids.
