Jenny Clark of the Women’s Empowerment Coalition (WECO) joined us on Zoom. She is a member of a Rotary club in Portland, Oregon and helped found WECO in 2017. WECO works with local organizations to create projects that benefit women and girls. Right now, WECO has projects in Cambodia, Peru, India, Costa Rica, and Kenya. They try to incorporate travel in the projects to help create meaningful service projects. Their projects produce economic development in the countries where they create programs. They are working infrastructure building and business development and women’s education and childcare. Jenny shared details of some of these projects. They believe that they are helping create change from the ground up! WECO’s funding comes from corporate sponsors, small grants and crowdfunding for specific projects.
