Since we did not have an official speaker, club members spent the meeting discussing a number of different projects and ideas. President Rich told us about what he learned his Rotary year and what he was most proud of, including all of the donations that we have made to various organizations and the in- person projects that were accomplished despite dealing with COVID-19 restrictions. The members also discussed RYLA and its move to a new location this year. There were some questions about how we can improve our Facebook presence. Brigid Lester thanked the Deans for their wonderful Rotary moments. Dan Bernbaum, our membership chair for 2022-23, discussed his idea for inviting potential new members to participate in club service projects. He is hoping to have at least 4 of these events in the Rotary year and has the goal of having 5 new members for the year. Ben asked Denis to tell us about his four grandchildren, which are one of the great joys of his life, so we got to hear a little about the two boys and two girls – ages 1, 2, 3 and 4. Tink gave us a preview of some of his upcoming talks, including more interesting stories from his experiences in the military and more historical figures. Finally, Shirley told us about how her parents traveled west after they married in 1930, keeping a detailed log of their travels, and in the 1990s/early 2000s, Shirley and Ernie took their own trips to some of the same places and kept their own log of their travels. Overall it was an interesting and informative meeting!
