On June 16th Kent Miller from the Northwest Austin Rotary Club gave us a report on the grant project providing water through Water to Thrive to areas in Ethiopia. Kent’s PowerPoint presentation described all of the work that has been accomplished with the $150,000 plus grant that involved two Rotary districts, 20 plus Rotary clubs, and local officials and churches in Ethiopia. As part of the project, sites were selected for water wells and training of the local villagers on maintenance of the wells, sanitation, and financial and resource management. This a wonderful project that our club participated in by providing funds towards to the matching grant. Included in Kent’s presentation was a video of some villagers showing their gratitude!
