Our speaker last week was Clarke Straughan, who is described as "Indiana Jones, before Indiana Jones.” Clarke told us many stories of his adventures around the world. He found jobs in the best hotels in many countries and met many different people through those jobs. His first stop was Hawaii where he finished his Marine Reserve training. He then made it to Australia, where he worked for a year or so. Following Australia, he went to Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Israel, Europe, and Africa. He said he traveled on 21 different ships and got sick each time. In all his travels, his contacts made all the difference! Through them, he found new jobs and new connections that led to more adventures around the world!
