Speaker for our last meeting was Past-District Governor Rich Kaye. PDG Rich spoke to us about the District Foundation and the Foundation's "Keyway" program. The program allows tax advantages to donors and clubs participating in approved charity projects, by providing a 501 (c)3 "umbrella" for those specific projects. Donations to individual clubs, even though the clubs are "not for profit" do not normally qualify for this preferential tax treatment. The "Keyway" may allow our club to purchase our Prescription Music keyboards tax free. PDG Rich also highlighted Foundation Annual Fund activities, as well as progress made by Rotary International's "Polio Plus" program, in eliminating polio worldwide.
