NxNE Austin Rotarian Abu Jahid told us about his background. He is originally from Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in the world. He presented a slide show showing how he has been trying to help his village for the last 15 years. Abu has a non-profit – New Life Foundation to help people in his country. Its first investment was an ambulance to help people get to the hospital. The foundation has also distributed food and masks during the pandemic, and every winter gives clothes to the elderly and children. The foundation is helping with housing for the homeless and has created scholarships for school children. NLF is growing and needs support. A dollar goes a long way in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is one/fourth size of Texas in area with 200 million people. Every penny that is donated is used in Bangladesh. He wants all of us to try to help in some small way.
