Sugar Ray Destin, Jr. is a nationally sought after motivational speaker. On February 28, he told us his family stories about perseverance. Sugar Ray grew up in shadow of his sister who was a world class sprinter and Olympian, who worked really hard to reach her athletic goals. He was not an athlete instead found his niche to lead and motivate and develop others. He started talking to kids and asking them what their goals were. Many of them said they wanted to be musicians and athletes, but they weren't practicing to get where they wanted to be. Sugar Ray started youth programs in 2013 and connected youths to people who could be mentors or role models by bringing them in as speakers. He motivates people to help others and themselves.
