Our last program in December was a video from Dan Wilson. Dan was born and raised in New York City and has been a drummer since his middle school days. He continued drumming through his high school and college years at Oberlin College in Ohio. Dan continues to play with groups through his retirement years. He moved to Austin in 1999 and has been playing in community bands in Austin since then. Dan is one of Shirley and Ernie Dean's neighbors at Westminster. His video was Youtube presentation that he made at Westminster for the residents. In it, Dan gave some history of drumming, including telling a funny story related to creating the rim shot for comedians, so people would laugh at jokes. Dan described different drums and other percussion instruments and played on them as well. A very fun and informative presentation to end 2020.
