It was announced by the board that we are raising money for local Boy Scouts through sunshine basket for month of August as possibly part of Sept. We also sang for Aziz’ birthday and raised additional funds.
Our program was presented by Sally Hood and Ana Velazquez. Ana showed us a slide show and video about how Rise Against Hunger has adjusted their procedure and layout for building meals so that it can be safely done during the COVID pandemic. We are looking at an early October date for this project at Casa Chapala with potentially two stations - one inside and one outside on the patio - to make it easier to package up 10,000 meals. There will be more than one shift with breaks between for any necessary cleaning. The E-club is interested in joining in this project as well as possibly the NW Austin club. More details to follow.
